Escape
Role: Game Developer & Designer, Level Designer
Genre: Third-Person Puzzle
Engine: Unreal 4.26
Game Overview:
Escape is a project that I ended up loving. When I first created it, I felt it wasn't my strongest work, but I find myself returning to it. Then, I realized that Escape is a launching pad for me. I once had a professor say that our first games won't be pretty, but we'll love them anyways because it's something that's ours, and that is how I feel about Escape. Looking back, I am fond of this project because it highlights what I would like to do with my talents. I love puzzle and narrative-driven games, and those are the games that I would love to create one day.

I created the safe and color puzzle independently, which is probably the most complicated mechanic I have created. I am proud of myself for figuring out the roadblocks I encountered on the way. My biggest regret is that, as highlighted in the video, the lighting affected the colors on the blocks. So it is hard to tell the red from the orange; I wish I had worked more with lighting and materials to fix that. If I had more time, I would have fixed that issue.
